30th Anniversary Cheese & Wine Evening

As a part of our 30th anniversary celebrations, it was decided that we would have a Cheese & Wine social evening on 29 June at King Charles the Martyr Church Hall. This was organised by Jacky Walker, who chose the food, soft drinks and entertainment, and Bruce Bennett who chose the wines.

64 members and friends came, including a small number who were members from the beginning, and Bob and Sue Hampson who had travelled from their home in Dorchester to be with us.  Bob was on our committee for a number of years a long while ago.  It was also pleasing that Johann Holt from RSPB Central England region was able to attend.  Photographs of past events were displayed.

Stan gave an introductory address regarding the starting of the Group and its progression through the years, before the Gentle Jazz band started to play. There was more than enough food and drink for everyone and a very good

evening was had by all.
